Were these 70,s kits 100% mahogany, and were they 3 ply shells also?

If your referring to the African Mahogany shells then yes they were 3ply (100%) with Beech rings

Some early Prems also had 3 ply Beech shells though are not anywhere near as common as the Finnish Birch shells

I wonder why most of the builders back then DID NOT use African mahogany?...I'm thinking it was a matter of supply and cost associated with getting it to the factory?
