I acquired several old calf skin heads still in the original boxes. Any info on the manufacturer and approx date would be great. Thanks.
Old Calf Skin Heads and Boxs Last viewed: 7 hours ago
Are those mounted on wooden flesh hoops or are they just the skins unmounted?
All I can add is that "Amrawco" is short for "American Rawhide Company".
If I remember correctly, there was a big fire there at one time and much was destroyed.
I can't tell you the exact age but, by the graphic design on the box, I would guess sometime in the 40's.
BTW, I need a pair of 12" calfskin heads for a good price if you happen to have some you'd want to sell! If you have a slunk head and a batter head that would be awesome! -just in case!

Thanks for the reply. They were mounted on wood. I doublechecked and they were 14" with one 10" wood hoop. I'm not sure why my grandfather would have kept them.... What am I saying, i don't throw any drum stuff away either. I guess the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree!
