Hi!

I am looking for help in identifying this Premier Snare, as I haven´t been able to find it in the catalogues:

(Click on the pics for large versions, clck again for mega-versions...)

The hoops are obviously modern substitutes, as are the rods.

But:

In the 76-77 Accessories Catalogue, all the 2000 snares has 8 lugs, whereas mine has 10. Is this a fault in the catalogue, and mine simply a 2004?

Thanks in advance!

Oh - it is a very nice snare that I like a lot, and in great shape mechanically and cosmetically. Now - to find 2 diecast Premier hoops with 10 holes....

It appears to be part of the 2000 Line. Possibly one of the Concert Series, still checking all my Catalogs.

The rods are period, the slot head rods were not used after 65/67.

Oh no - at least here in Europe the slothead rods went on till around 1980. As long as the Diecast rims, and on all Resonators and Elites. Only dropped with the introduction of thick-shelled XPK and APK´s.

I think I will stick to the idea that it is a fault in the catalogue when it states that 2000 series drums has 8 lugs - I also have a 14x12" marching snare with 10 lugs.

So - I will call it a 2004!
