Ludwig drumhead age? Last viewed: 7 hours ago

Loading...

I have a Ludwig Pioneer snare in a mahogany finish that is transition drum. The date in the shell is 1960 and all the hardware is nickle plated.

The strainer as well as the butt plate are stamped "WFL" and the badge is the large transition badge.

I'm in the process of a thorough cleaning and polishing but the bottom snare head has me puzzled. Anyone know about this head and why it has a sticker on it instead of ink printing?

thats the proper head for that era. those pre dated the ludwig logo heads that are more commonly seen.

Thanks for the info! So this could be the original head to the drum then?
