Ludwig COB 14x6,5 Last viewed: 1 day ago

Loading...

I have the chance to buy a 1960 Ludwig COB Supra in 14x6,5 (yes ... 6,5). Welded seam, crimped beds etc, it's all there...

The drum is in good condition, no dents, just a few scratches and 2 panels with more scratches...

I guess these are quite rare drums, right? Even more here in Europe. What would be a good price to pay!?

thanks guys!

That size is pretty rare and certainly not seen every day. They were actually the Super Ludwig 400 model and the 6.5 deep drum was the 402.

They weren't called surpas till 63/64 when the Ludalloy(aluminum/zinc alloy) supra phonic was introduced.

Great drums,best of luck.

So I might get a bargain ... :-)

I'm on the case ... got a phone-call appointment with the seller tomorrow... got some pics, might be 2 small extra holes on the drum, looks like it has been a good workhorse drum so far....

Good luck. the two extra holes make it as mentioned a great workhorse players drum, It will probably your go to drum once you play it.

ok, here's the deal...

the drum is pretty scratched, especially on 2 or 3 panels, where somebody had tried to engrave s.th. and scratch it away later. there are two extra holes where a second muffler might have been installed (for whatever reason). I got some small sized pics, posted some.

All in all not a collector's item, BUT i can get it for 400€ (about $520), which normally is the prize for a 70s Ludaloy Supra in decent shape over here.... sounds like a plan, doesn't it?!

Yes as long as the bearing edges have not been fooled with I mean bent or dents in them, you'll have a great players brass 6 1/2x14" snare drum.
