Leedy XL Shelley Manne High Hat Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Loading...

I recently bought a 1958 Leedy Shelly Manne No 11 drum set. Something I'm curious about is on the high hat peddle Shelly is spelled "Shelley". The top of the pedal says XL Leedy. This set is date stamped Oct 13 1958 and also stamped by the date is a large M. Is this a casting mistake in the pedal, even the catalog page spells it Shelly. Any information would be appriciated.

WOW! That pedal may be the drum world's equivalent of the "upside down plane" airmail postage stamp.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.
