22" Johan VDS ride approx. 2300 g: 320 EUR ($445 USD)
Johan modified this one for me in 2007. It used to be a 70s Avedis Light Ride at 2740 g. Johan reworked it completely into an amazing cymbal. Many of his creations have a higher profile and quite a bit of tension with a nasal trashy thing going on, but this one is lower-pitched and sounds more polite and very pretty. Good stick for its weight with a beautiful sparkly wash behind. It wobbles a lot and the edge is extremely crashable. The bell is very good and retains a lot of the original Avedis spirit, although with added complexity. Excellent condition.
I've had this one for sale twice before, but I changed my mind both times. However, it sees very little use and I feel bad about having it sit on the shelf. It records beautifully and sounds great from out front, so I honestly cannot say exactly why I don't use it. Maybe I just like slightly drier cymbals?
