I found this old photo of Jake Hanna from about 10 years ago. He and Bobby Gordon (clarinetist in the mirror) were playing a party in the living room of a friend of mine, which was kind of amazing. I wandered in and saw this legend and flipped. He was a completely down to earth, funny guy who could play circles around almost anybody with just a two-piece. Check out the Slingerland nesting bass drum. He told me he'd had it for years and just threw everything inside like a suitcase. Classic.

Great pic! Jake wrote the book on playing fast tempos. One of a long line of great Boston area drummers.
