A guitarist I work with, who hasn't played in a few years, ask me if I would be interested in a Premier BD he had in his basement. He's cleaning things out and what to get rid of some drums that he had let a previous drummer use. He said he pieced a kit together after someone stole a bunch equipment out of their van. I bought the BD and he just gave me some Pearl toms and this snare. I can't seem to find any pics of a snare like it. It is a brass shell 7 1/2 X 14 (which someone painted poorly). Three different kind of lugs. One looks like Pearl, one I earlier Pearl??, and one that looks similar to Rogers. There are two beads around it which is throwing me for a loop. It's probably not a rare drum but I would like to try to ID it. Also the air vent looks is very small with a hex head on the outside. Disregard the Pulse batter head he just put that on.

Couldn't find any makers that had the double bead around their shells. Took the drum down to the store it was purchased from (it still had a sticker inside) and mystery solved. I new it was a Frankenstein but didn't even think about someone using a brass timbale shell. Go figure.
blackchrome - If you don't mind sinking a little money into it, it could be a really nice snare drum. Does it have snare beds? If yes...
Tube lugs, or repro Radio King lugs would look killer. Strip the shell down to the brass and add a P-83 strainer and butt plate. If it's a brass shell you might want to consider single-flange hoops and clips. If it's a nice brass shell and it has snare beds, I'd sink another few bucks into it and turn it out!
Nice find.

It doesn't have snare beds but could probably added fairly easy ( I won't start the snare bed/no snare bed debate). I'll look into that. It was definitely hand painted and is chipping so should be easy to strip. RK lugs with single flange hoops would look pretty kick ass. Thanks for the idea John.
