A month or so ago, I found a Gretsch hi hat stand in my friends back yard. It looks old to my untrained eyes, but I was wondering just how old and if it's 'vintage' at all.

it's model 4844 flush based stand, introduced in the early 60s i think.
it's certainly vintage although not sure on value- they seem to vary a lot based on condition and completeness. it appears yours is missing the clutch.
It's in quite bad condition as well... really rusted, the spring mechanism is really f'd up etc. At least it works! But yes... no clutch. Thank you very much mad_mike!
