I picked up an assortment of drum items in a "package deal" last week-end. Among them was a pair of 14" 8-lug die-cast snare rims. I was informed (thank you!) by a couple of fellow forum members that these are vintage Gretsch rims.
The batter side rim is out of round, due to a slight dent in a small area. The snare side rim has no issues whatsoever.
I have neither the ability, the time, or the interest in attempting to rectify the situation with the batter side rim. I'd like to offer the rims as a pair "as is" in the hopes that the next owner might be able to do something with the batter side rim. In a worst case scenario, he'd at least have a perfectly functional, cosmetically sound snare side rim.
Due to the condition and situation with the batter side rim, I'm really not sure what to ask for the pair. I'm sure that I'd accept whatever a seriously interested party would offer. I'd prefer to sell these here in lieu of e-Bay if at all possible. I've got extra pics of the area on the batter side that's the problem, should you need to see them. If you've got an interest, please feel free to drop me a PM and let's talk.
THANKS in advance for your time!
