This is a Ludwig 8 lug 6.5x14 Chrome over Wood snare. This is not an import drum. This is a 4 ply clear maple interior drum made in Monroe, N.C. I've been a big fan of these drums for some time and own several myself. I love the way they sound. This one has been fully detailed and is ready to go. Has a newer Remo coated ambassador up top and a ambassador snare side head as well. Has a nice set of Puresound 20 strand snare wires and new Ludwig snare cords. Has large round knob muffler and p85 strainer. Both work smoothly. Has the Ludwig block logo snare butt and all matching tension rods. The hardware and shell are in great condition. Just a few minor scuffs on the chrome wrap that are expected with age. Inexpensive way to add a big wood snare sound to your kit that looks good with it as well. Chrome goes with anything! Please feel free to pm me here or email to mikelayton@bellsouth.net if you have any questions. Thanks for checking it out.

That is a great drum, I have one just like it and it sounds great. I think the black and white badge drums with those kind of lugs ( not sure what you call them) are gonna becoming more and more desirable as time goes on. I have a huge kit with the 4 ply shells and those lugs, I really dig them.

Mike, I will get that hoop out one of these days, have not forgot.

Thank you!

No problem on the hoop Jeff. Thanks man!

Yeah, i'm digging this snare. I really like the way they sound. Jeff-this is the same type of drum that I refinished in the maple exterior to go with my Educators. Remember that one? It had already been stripped when I got it. Those are called rocker lugs. Once called standard lugs when they first appeared. Same hole pattern as the bowties and the imperials.

Here is a pic of the maple finish one I did. Also, here is one that I own, that someone else did. Its a replica of a 60's keystone badge Sky Blue Pearl Auditorium. Like I said. I love these drums.
