Hey Kev, You are somewhat right Ludwig never made a 18" tom..But i have for a few drummers, shells from the late 60s to 1972..I recoverd them added "club date" lugs...So i made them up...Mikey
Look out! Mikey is muddying up the pond...
1965 Ludwig Hollywood
1970 Ludwig Jazzette
I'm thinking of doing this. Though, how close, tone-wise, are the Keller 6-ply mahog/poplar shells to the 3-plys? Repro may be easier and quicker.

If i was you i would wait for a used Ludwig 3 ply shell,it would sound better to add to your other shells then a 6 ply Keller shell...Oh one thing when you make the drum up,you need to used tom lugs Don't used lugs off a bass drum the hole's are higher up on the lug and your T-rods will not line up with the tom rims...Mikey
