I don`t know about Hayman and i`ve never owned a set of DW`s but one thing i can say for certain is that Rogers Clevelands/Daytons cut a swath thro`the world with their amazing design, sound through all tension ranges and swivo hardware. They were "The Cadillacs" of drums in there day and if you bought a set of Camcos,Ludwigs or Gretch in the 60`s,the Rogers would cost you a couple of hundred bucks more for the same set configuration.Alot of money in those days...

I have a loan at the moment of an LA era Camco 6 1/2" wood shell snare drum. My Rogers wood Powertones are awesome; but seriously - despite my initial reservations (strange under sized shell) I have to say that I would love to own that snare. It has a crisp but meaty sound that is really special. Now I get it. If the rest of the drums are like that - now I get it. $00.02
