How do i authenticate Ludwig hoops? I purchased a mid 70's ludwig kit for next to nothing a few months ago but the racks are all concert toms. I drilled the bottoms and now i am searching for the hoops. Is there a way to determine if the hoops are genuine ludwig??

Not sure myself how to tell, but for that matter, how many people out there would be able to, as long as they look similar, and you're not planning to sell to a overly scrutinizing buyer? Question for you though - you say you drilled for the bottom hoops. Did you have bearing edges done as well? Not an expert, but I believe that could give you some problems if you haven't.

All of the toms have the bearing edges so there is no problem. I have drilled the shells and tested but heads on and they are perfect!
