'66 Super Classic/cleaning?

Loading...

Here is my new 1966 Super Classic kit I recently picked up. Any tips for cleaning the wrap on this shell? Use car wax or soft scrub? It is pretty scratched up, and has some hazing. I am not trying to restore these drums, just want to make it look pretty again and try to get the best sound possible out of it. What do you guys use to clean the hardware on these kits? The hardware isn't in that bad of shape, not much rusting or pitting. Just some grime and dust mostly. Thanks for any info!

The best stuff for cleaning/polishing/restoring wrap is the Novus 3-step plastic polish products. I bought my kit from eBay and results are absolutely amazing! Several guys on the forum here will also swear by it. For best results, you'll want to take all of the hardware off of your drums when going through the process. If your hardware is not too bad, then while you have the lugs off of the drums, you can just treat them to a good old Turtle Wax or any favorite chrome polish. Hope this info helps! Nice tubs, by the way!
