um actually the original wrap provides a stiffness to the shell because it is part of its overall construction. therefore you did compromise the shells structure. the reality is that drum is now no longer desirable to anyone other than for a beater kit. any collectability is gone.

If the drum was rewrapped, says "Ludwig" on it and ends up sounding great, I would have a hard time classifying it as "ruined".

actually taking the wrap off of those drums is extreme. i was being curt. i stand by my statement.
