Tony. very sweet little ludwig, here's you a link to look at! http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/images/ludwig_snaredrums/1959_LUDWIG_SNARES4.jpg
very nice. i didn't realize it was a 59'. thank you!
It's not (necessarily) a 1959 drum -very likely not, in fact. 1959 drums had the "Transition" badge for the most part. Yours has an embossed keystone badge.
The "Jazz Combo" was made for a number of years. we would have to see the badge number to determine the age of the drum. Also, many times, the date is stamped in ink on the interior of the shell and it's usually able to be seen by looking in through the air vent hole. Although, there is a chance that it's not stamp-dated.
What is the number on the badge?

i'm not sure about the number. i didn't ask for it because i am familiar with the drum and know that it's legit. it's being shipped so when i get it i'll post the number. back in high school we always refered to it as "the 60's luddy piccolo". as typical kids, we had no appreciation for history so we never did any checking on it. we also all played it live at least once. i don't really like piccolos but it actually sounds pretty nice. luckily we had enough respect for drums in general to hang on to our vintage stuff and take good care if it until we wised up.

If you find that, after re-acquaintance, you two have irreconcilable differences, I'd be happy to negotiate my compatibility.
PM if interested.
Best,

How much does a Jazz Combo go for these days?
probably somewhere between (+/-) $200-$500 depending on the finish and the condition, would be my guess.
