I thought of the single flange, but the cost is more than I paid for the drum. Hopefully I can find a head with a thin hoop.

I tried forcing the head in place, but there's no way. I'll have to take it to the store and try some I guess.

Yes it is just one of the rims that is undersize. Heads fit the second rim fine.

Actually it's both, they have the same hoop size. To big by about 1/8 - 3/16".
