No I used a heat gun on the 12" and 20" the wrap looked like a wet towel when I was done. Also there were the big holes from the mounts I intalled....

Take a look at my butt crack

Just replace the part, I'm sure you can find another. I had one and the part is not symmetrical. Looks like the original die was hand made.
