Pretty cool! YOu guys looked like cartoon characters, lol. Soundes great, it remindes me of my band in some ways. Wish we could hear the drummer better though. Thanks for sharing. If I had a way to video our band I would, then post it here, it would be fun. I hope this thread takes off, Im always curious to here the bands that you guys are always talking about gigging with.

LOL - He does look like Morse! That's Tommy Gesualdo. The guy is a gifted guitar player and the really nice thing about him... no ego at all. He always gave what the music needed. He used to swap the lead player part with Robbie and they both worked well together. It was a fun band to play with. I'll see if I can find any stuff with vocals and the keyboard player, Sam. It's good stuff. You gotta hear our covers of Little Wing, Texas Flood and Third Stone From The Sun. The guys in our little band could really play.

That's what a musician is supposed to do! I wish the sound track was better, not so muddy. It's a third generation dupe from VHS. I am doing some cute stuff on the drums but you can't hear it. When you see me sweeping my right arm back and forth between the two crash cymbals, i'm doing fast doubles (in between cymbal/bass drum hits,) on the snare and toms with my left hand... Swiss Triplets. It gives the music forward momentum. I do a lot of stuff with rolls and triplets, you have to pay close attention to hear any of it. All that comes through are the big accents, none of the rolley-doodle stuff I play around them. I got/lifted most of that stuff from Bobby Columby. So I not only play/sound like the guy (because I learned/stole so many licks from him,) I look like him too! Maybe all guys with long black hair and beards look alike! LOL

So......whats the setup? Looks like Ludwigs but what cymbals? They sound really good. Was QPTV a local only cable channel or was it fed through PBS on 13?

It's no joke, I think I mentioned a couple of times that people used to walk up to me at clubs in NYC and ask me if I was bobby! We really don't look that much alike, it's just the hair/beard combo that creates the illusion.

They were the kit the studio had in the 'A' room, a Tama kit 12", 13", 16", 22" w/Ludwig Supra snare, and some really great sounding Zildjian A's from the 60's. Glenn, I was telling Brian, if you turn off the sound on the video and just watch me play, you'll see I'm doing a lot more on the drums than what you can hear, or that came through on the video. All you can hear are the BIG accents, all the color I was adding got lost in the mix.

Local PBS cable for Queens, Brooklyn & Long Island. The show played on Manhattan cable as well, but we had to submit for airing separately. At one point, we were playing two to three times a week on one station or another. That's why we developed a good following for the show... 13 million people in New York and a lot of them stay up late smoking doobage and watching late-night cable. The show was intended for teenagers in garage bands, but the bulk of our audience was ex-musician middle-aged guys! Falling Do

Pops - Trust me, I was lucky to find this one. I found four of them total and they are currently being converted from the 3/4" tapes that the station uses for broadcast to modern DVD's. People took pictures of me or the bands I worked with over the years, but try to track them down! You're not alone. Unless a friend or family member was the one taking the photos, not many people have a good photographic record of their musical exploits. The guys that do are lucky.
