That's great Murph, Cheers, & here's to you finding what you're looking for!
WTB: Ludwig Club Dates
Murph - I realize that this site is all about vintage drums and I love my '67 Club Dates, but are you aware that Ludwig just re-released the Club Date line with imperial lugs? I'm not talking about the made-in- China Club Date SE line (which are not bad from what I've heard). These are made in the USA. They are even offering black/gold and blue/silver duco finishes, as well as wood stain and sparkle finishes. They're beautiful! Check them out on the Ludwig website at www.ludwig-drums.com.
Greg,
Thanks for the tip! Those "Club Date USA" drums look amazing in black/gold duco. A bit surprised to see they are 7-ply shells, but I'm sure they sound killer. I have a sneaky suspicion they are well out of my price range though. :-) I live about 2 hours from Monroe, so maybe I can do a little dumpster diving next time I'm close by.

I'll sell my Obp clubbys for 1500
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp
once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
Just wanted to follow-up and let folks know my quest for some lacquer clubbies has come to an end. I've got some drums coming my way (from two sources) that will require some detailing, but pretty excited about these new prospects. I'll be sure to post a pic or two once the kit is together. Thanks to everyone who reached out with offers and leads on various kits... much appreciated!
In light of this purchase, I'm contemplating selling a primo set of '41 Radio Kings (24/13/16/single-ply snare) that have been rewrapped in green glass glitter. An amazing sounding and looking kit. I'm hoping the new club dates will give me the gumption to actually sell them.
