first of all... Merry Christmas...

sometimes I don't want to change a thing. The 12" silver is about to come out of the box. The whole idea to rewrap was to barely muffler the 14... It is a thin shelled naked 14". But. I have some mufflers. When it's time to tune they can go in. I can post results after one more go. This magnitude of decision ... Lol. I will make a vid or audio to compare the 2. If you like. The silver 12 will have to beat this. This video is also a great comparison of riser versus no riser. The 16 was on top of a cymbal bag it was not on proper legs and every time I swapped it from riser to no Riser it was different ...so you can see I took it off the Riser after a few minutes and then I put it back on the second time I put it back on it has a nice little resonance ...

Ps. I like this shot because I look small and the drums look and sound bigger than they are. It's quite opposite. I am nearly 6'2"

The kit sounds great, nice playing. I hope the silver tom sounds even better because I want to see it on there, think it would blend in nicer than green. And yeah, make a comparison clip for sure! :)

I covered a 58' Gretsch kit in the new Merlot and it came out killer. If you use an old-school Burgundy Sparkle so much the better. Great sounding kit. I LOVE the way you have the snare tuned. Like you, I play a lot of second line stuff and that snare tuning is perfect for it, buzz rolls sound killer. If you're like me, I know you're a fan of Johnny Vidocovich, Joseph 'Zigaboo' Modeliste of the Meters, and Stanton Moore. I really enjoyed your playing, took me right home where I live.

The Wild Tchoupitoulas Forever! :D

Too many great drums to list here!

I find that Gretsch shells are hard to wrap in the conventional products available. It always seems to make it harder to fit the head properly once the drum is covered. I did find a Satin Flame covering material that is thin enough so it doesn't interfere with the heads. It looks killer. I opted for gold but they also have all the other satin flame colors that we have seen in the past.

Well.. i tried the silver 12... It tunes super easy... But i am not scared to PLAY and SmACK green tom as it is already beat up. The silver is like new and i dont wanna hurt it. LOL. I can get more money for the silver too if i sell it. I still need to experiment before i decide. I Pretty much need one day. I havent been able to play this week because i had my baby girls for Christmas. Im on that lonely trip driving across texas to drop them off to their mother.
