In and around 1981 I was on the road with the top-40 rock band "Satellite", playing "Beach Week" in Daytona. My extremely good high-mileage Sonor Champion BD pedal decided to seize up and I had NO back up. After purchasing an inexpensive Pearl pedal, my ex wife, at my direction, sent a Gretsch "Monster" pedal to replace it. From Jacks...in Boston.Untried, betting on similar quality to my Stop-Sign drum set. It lasted...3 sets and the pin holding the footboard sheared off. Three sets...That is when I changed over to the Premier 252, and it's been smooth sailing ever since. The WORST pedal EVER MADE. Or do YOU have a candidate?
Worst pedal EVER MADE...Gretsch "Monster"
I bought a Top (Pro ?) pedal I think it was called...HORRIBLE Pos.....recall paying $12.50 for it in around 1968-70!..said top or pro right on the footboard.....
Even as a kid...I thought it was pretty
cHeap looking...
I had a TKO pedal in the 90s. It was pretty bad.
Mine was easily a Ludwig Ghost pedal, Yuck !! it was slow with a dead feeling to it. went back to my original WFL speed king, smiles for miles.
1951 Slingerland HH is not much. Have one of the Top's and a Ghost. They are both better :-)

I had a Yamaha knock-off that had the footboard snap in half. After welding it held up. Few more years until I got DW 3000's? The early lower line. Later (mid 90's) replaced by 5000's with the weighted footboard. I also stopped carrying g the second bass drum then too. Still using those.

If you were good at metalwork you could combine the "Top" and "Pro" pedal lettering to make a POOP pedal...Burger Kin
