Wm F Ludwig bass drum question

I just got a 28" mahogany bass drum with maple hoops and a single eyelet in the middle for each long T-handle to go thru--they are on one side only and tension both sides simultaneously. I was cleaning it up and noticed on the grommets under the eyelets that it says Wm F Ludwig rather than what I was more familiar with--WFL. I looked online and it appears this wording was used from 1937 up until late 1939 (reference Vintage Drum Time Line site). I know lots of parts were used later, even years later after a change or discontinuation. Would it be safe to say that this drum was made 1939 or prior, or was this particular wording of Wm F Ludwig used still years later for the manufacture of these grommets? I am trying to date the drum aprox and it is missing the badge.

Dear Vintage Drum Guru,

The site you referred me to is for the badges. I mentioned this drum does not have a badge. I am seeking more info based on the washer or grommet that is underneath the eyelet that the tension rod goes through and it reads Wm F Ludwig (in full it reads the above with the addition of "drum Co." and "Chicago USA" around the entire circle of the grommet.

Any more info based on this?

Ken, I understand. the washers all have that it won't really help date the drum, if you'll post a pic or two of your drum it will help us evaluate your drum thx.

I have a couple photos now to help identify the bass drum-hope these help. Also, I picked up a Leedy tom and would like a little help identifying that one as well. It has single flanged hoops but the one on the bottom is slightly different than the one on top and is chrome whereas the one on top is nickel. Also, 4 little holes in a diamond pattern with a small hole above and below it--probably the original tom mount but don't know what the hole above and below would be for? It is 13" by the way with 8 lugs.

You might also look inside the drums and see if there is a date stamped in ink or written with chalk across the mahogany inner shell surface. The extra holes might be for a drum key holder and an internal tone control.
