Will This MIJ Price Madness Ever End

From drumfx

What would you sell your Drum mate shell pack or your aqua glass kit for? $99? $150? probably not right? Why? Because they are worth more than that. I'm just saying.

"You're just saying?" That's a nice way of insulting someone and then trying to sound like you really didn't mean it. Of course not, genius. I wouldn't give them away, but neither would I gouge someone on price. I practice what I preach and price things fairly.

My point was, these 60's MIJ drums are not worth the outrageously inflated prices some people ask for them. Asking $1000 or even $1200 for a set missing bottom rims, with scratches, dings, dents, water damage, cruddy looking wrap, and missing or changed hardware is criminal, delusional, and irresponsible. There are people out there trying to make big bucks on these drums by reeling in a sucker, and there are those who are simply ignorant and think that any old drum is worth a fortune.

If you want to go pay $1200 for a 60's MIJ set, then knock yourself out.

Pics for reference…

It’s just someone not knowledgeable or hoping to get more than what they’re worth. I think someone mentioned that it’s easier to get talked down in price than not having priced it high enough. IMO, they’d be lucky to get 1/3 of their asking price.
