which rogers wrap is more valuable?

Loading...

I'm checking this kit out next week (can't wait). my friend's step mother has this kit which was referred to as "salmon color". it's a rogers, apparently from the sixties (my ears are perked up at this point) so it's either red wine ripple pearl or pink strata pearl.

my question is: which wrap is more valuable?

I know I'm jumping the gun with this post but I couldn't help but get excited when he said it was a pinkish grey...alluding to the rare red wine ripple pearl.

I'll be able to tell the difference between wraps. I just want to know which finish is more valuable, so we can potentially work out a price. she's looking to sell it and I have first dibs. I'll post the specs and some pics after I see it. it has a "metal" snare, btw. hope it's a dyna!

Unfaded pink oyster definitely is a tad bit more rare.

When you mention "pink oyster" are you referring to Rogers' Pink Strata Pearl? I only ask because I've never seen a Rogers' "Pink Oyster" listed in any of its catalogs. The only Rogers' wraps I've found with any type of pinkish "hue" are the Pink Champagne Pearl offered between 1964 and 1967, the Pink Strata Pearl offered in 1967, the Wine-Red Ripple Pearl offered between 1960 and 1967, the Red Ripple (R-360 Series) offered between 1968 and 1972 and the Red Oyster (R-380 Series) offered between 1968 and 1972.

I know that Ludwig offered a Pink Oyster Pearl wrap but didn't know that Rogers did.

The most valuable wrap of any Rogers kit is the wrap on my personal set. Trust me. With all that it took to get them in this condition ... freekin' company owner must have needed payoff for his new in-ground pool. Not to worry, though. He did give me a little kiss on the cheek beforehand. Such a sweetheart.
