What Year are these Ludwigs??

I am wondering if I should buy these drums off CL and try to flip em. Can anyone tell me more about them (year/series/etc)???

I don't recognize that color, but I recognize the Modular hardware mount and large Monroe badge, so I'm guessing they are mid-80's-ish, maybe. You might be able to flip them for a profit if you get a really good deal on them, yourself. They are not of collectible interest. The snare drum is an Acrolite -probably from the 80's.

I've seen a set of these years ago and if I'm not mistaken they bore the 60's keystone badge. I love the purple sparkle.

I'd say they are from about 1994 or so. The color appears to be Purple Shadow, not a sparkle finish. The Shadow finishes were a dye process that got right into the pores of the wood and then UV cured. The Marble finishes were really cool! This kit appears to be in a Big Beat configuration. The down side were the huge Modular brackets attached to the toms. Really took away allot of resonance on the smaller toms. Knowing how to tune definitely helped!
