That is a Gene Krupa Sound King. I have one myself. Great drum. I cant see the badge all that well to determine its age, but that drum was chrome over brass up until the late 70's and later it had a steel shell. Great pickup. Enjoy it!

I have a drum like that. Serial# is 393***. The shell is COB but the rims are steel. Is that the way they were produced?

Cool. That badge is present on shells produced from 1973-1986. The serial number on your drum puts it right around the late 70's- 1980. Yours too Gerald. There is a great link at the top of this website for Slingerland drums. Take a look around. There are some great articles and pictures of badges, strainers, ect. Pretty cool stuff :). Enjoy those drums!

Thanks for the replies. I hope to clean it up and see how it sounds. The thing is a Beast.
