First guess in the absence of complete set of pictures showing the butt plate, vent hole, detail of tone control, etc., is that someone made up a shell and applied the parts from a Rogers Powertone snare drum. But you never know, it could be something they were experimenting with in the shop.

It's also possible that someone stripped the inside of a PowerTone, but that doesn't explaing the use of strip washers at the screws used to secure the tension casings.

I'm thining it is an English Rogers snare. Those plates look familiar to those drums made over there. I'd like to see the script logo on it. If there isn't one but 3 pin holes where it should be then it is English because the pins used were weak and most English scripts were gone off the drum. But a shadow would remain or the pin holes where it was. Should look like an late 1950s Rogers OH script with a line under it. Please post a pic and more to tell for sure. Thanks!

Those tallish hoops and smaller muffler pad look like English Rogers as well. I can't post the link to the web page but Alan Watt has the whole history up on a web site. Simply google "ROGERS DRUMS HISTORY ENGLAND." And I think they offered black diamond pearl in their limited color options over there too.

Yep, I concur with the Ploughman and the Grampsman. English Powertone. I believe I have seen those interior lug backing plates on the English wood drums and the muffler is the same as the one on my English dyna.

I can't speak from experience because I've never owned one. I do know that Powertone holds his English Rogers Dyna in high regard. Also that Alan Watt has many of these wood models and also holds them in high regard. He would be the one to contact from his amazing web page history and collection of these drums.
