I asked her and she just smiled......Go figure.......
Ludwig used those grips on their marching mallets, so I'm guessing these sticks were designed for timp/toms. Looks like they'd make good cowbell sticks. I'm tempted to buy them just because they're unique.

ive got an older pair that a friend/forum member gave me. mine have the red round ribbed handles like the older wfl/Ludwig brushes. the catalog refers to mine as champion wood tenor sticks with rubber handles.

They look excellent for eating Sushi !!!!
Mike Layton is dead on right. When I was a kid in Drum Corp back in the mid 60's we used those type of sticks for tenor drum. Handles were red ribbed rubber.
