WFL Throw Help Last viewed: 2 days ago

Loading...

Hi all.

I have this throw from my 1948 zephyr lug 6.5 snare and mine has now broken in two places (the pivot bolts on the back that move the slider up and down).

I've taken in to an old school hardware store and a ***eler to see if they could fixie fixie...no luck.

Does anyone have one for sale or have advice. The pieces that broke (fastener washer things) seem to maybe need a machinist to re create...

HELP

Can you show a picture of the broken bits on the backside? I have this exact throwoff on my 40's WFL and it works great. I seem to recall (although with mine mounted on the drum, it's hard to exactly recall) it used rivets in those locations, and that could be replicated?

Will post pics!

They are rivets but I can't fathom how to find someone who will do that.

So here is a pic

I need a colar/washer thing to hold the small arm w/eyelet to the post as well as a rivet to have the lever both pivot on and hold the lever to the sliding piece.

'tu capisci?'

Would a trip to home depot frustrate me or make this thing a happen??

If you have a good machine shop near by that might be the best place to start? If you can bring them a picture of a complete strainer that shows exactly what you need it would be helpful.
