WFL Super Classic snare

Loading...

Hi mates,

I´m new in the forum. I´m trying to validate the originallity of a snare drum that I have and want to sell. It´s a WFL Super Classic Ray McKinley which has the date written in the interior of the shell in a strange manner so some people don´t trust it´s the snare it is. When I bought it it hasn´t the badge so I had to buy one and put it on but saddly I couldn´t find the right one and put the one I found which is not accurate with its date of manufacturing, ´cause it´s suppose to be a 1948 snare. Please, can anyone help me to identify this snare drum?

Mugician,

What does the label, next to the date, say? None of my WFL's have a label.

It does appear to be a Ray McK. snare.

Thanks vintagemore2000,

Do anyone know why is the date handwrote? The sticker is from Sistek Musik Co. so I allways though they restored it in some point, maybe they sanded the interior to clean it and rewrote the date. Who knows, some ideas?

Can you post a pic close up of the badge?

Here you are, but it isn´t original to the drum. There wasn´t badge on it when I bought it. Neither top hoop.

the interior hasn't been sanded. also this year model wouldn't have a stamp date in it either.

I think that date stamp was most likely done by someone other than the factory. not saying that it isn't a 48 drum by any means. ive got a gold sparkle 10x15 marching snare that has the 48-52 wfl badge. it has the same muffler as yours. that's a nice looking drum.
