These new drugs are cutting edge stuff. They are genetically targeted 'bullets' that interrupt the reproductive process/cycle of a specific virus in the body. I have faith that sooner, or later depending on how much support they get from us and the gubbamint, that the boys and girls in white lab coats will eventually eradicate many of the illnesses and diseases that plague us today. In 1968 my (then) 16 year old younger brother died from a form of Lymphoma that is curable today. Medicine has made some huge advances in a very short time. I'm glad to be alive at a time when I can take advantage of those advances in science and medicine. It really is a 'miracle!'

John I so glad for you, a friend of mine had that done, he even had a liver trans plant 10 years ago it was all cleared and then it came back hope it works for u congrats ...

The virus is 'Undetectable' in my blood after 8 weeks on the Sovaldi/Olysio combination therapy! I still have four more weeks of taking the meds before I'm done. Next blood test (in a month) will determine if I've achieved a sustained viral response. (Cured!)

Again, thanks All for the very kind words and support. And special thanks to you Kev... you went first and you talked about it! I wouldn't have started thinking about getting help if it wasn't for your original post here at VDF about it. Thank you TommyP and Dave for leaving it up. This thing can -save lives- I hope others will read the thread and seek some help.

You're not ready to be playing drums for Hendrix or Jerry Garcia quite yet. By sharing your happiness, you've lifted everyone spirits with your success story. As you say, medicine has made HUGE advances in just a short time, and I'm so glad that these advances are keeping you with us. Just image what the medical field will be able to do in twenty more years, or thirty!
