Yeah I don't quite get the reason for having so many kits all in the same configuration. I get the green but variety in configurations would be my thing if I were to go one color in collecting.

I just want one of them....and the SPACE he has to show it with MY collection!

The reason for so many Green Vistalite kits is simple: during the formative years of infancy, his mom worked for Ludwig on the Green Vistalite line. She wasn't home much, putting in long hours of OT due to high demand for these Luddy's. One day, he went to work during a "Visit your Mom at Work Day" and the rest is history....it's always the mom's fault.... Just ask Oprah

GREAT kits,great display space(An all white display area really sets off the green color)AND after showing the video to my wife,she had to admit MAYBE there people who are more obsessive than I am.It really seem this collection is the reason for the lack of availability of these kits for the rest of us.

Very nice collection, I noticed the third set in on the first row had an 18" floor tom with a badge half way down the shell!, I have not seen this on a Vistalite before most unusual. Can anyone shed any light?

What if they were all fakes? I'm not saying they are but rare vistas have been faked. Imagine the guy building all the fakes calling this guy up every few months saying "Hey, I found another ultra rare green set for you".

Again I'm not saying that is the case here but with that much green (the one Vista color I really lust after because I think it looks like a 7up bottle) here maybe at least a couple of them are of questionable heritage.

The guy must be a very tenacious collector with deep pockets to acquire all these. I don't personally buy into the "less than 200 green sets ever made" line from Ludwig but regardless they are tough to find.

Hi, My name is Tom and I own the collection, A special shout-out to VistaBob for inviting me to this forum. And another shout-out to all you folks concerned about my mental health. I have been quietly collecting these drums for about 15 years. It started with a blue, then Amber then red and yellow and of course green. I'm so partial to the greens because, well lets face it they are rare as vistalites go, and once I got started it snowballed. I have never subscribed to estimates that 50-200 sets were produced because nobody really knows, I just go with the fact that green wasn't a very popular color in the middle seventies so the production was limited (?). None of these drums are for sale. I would like to address SPEEDKINGS eagle eye regarding the floor tom, When I aquired this set, the goof who sold them to me tried to save money on shipping and "nested" the tom inside the 24" BD, when it arrived in Fl. it was cracked from edge to edge. To make it right the seller and I agreed on a revised $ credit and an after-market shell. I did not care about the badge location because i would never try to imply that its an original. I also used an aftermarket badge and left the serial number off. This is the only impostor in the collection. playing and collecting drums is a big part of my life as I'm sure it is with most of you, so thanks for the comments and take good care
