Try this link for more on MIJ brands. http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/japanese_drums/index.html

Are those cymbals included for the $100? Could those be vintage Zildjians?

I wouldn't hesitate. Buy away! Seems like a fun cleanup resto project.

Definitely worth it. Old MIJ kits have a nice warm sound for a fraction the price of vintage American. They polish up real nice too. Check out the Vintage Non-USA Drums section of this blog for loads of info and feedback on the crest kit. There weren't too many manufacturers in Japan in the early days, but there were lots of brand names, Crest being one of them.

Good luck with your purchase and have fun!
