Vintage Rogers bass drum pedal identity help please Last viewed: 17 hours ago

Loading...

greetings, i have an old Rogers bass drum pedal that I would like to identify; 90% of the vintage Rogers pedals that I see out there have the spring assembly coming up off the pedal but mine follows the frame column (like a more modern Rogers pedal) but has the old swivomatic plate. Can anyone direct me to some catalog scans or does anyone know what this was called? Also, there is no strap. I suspect that the original strap was leather or could this have been an early nylon strap? Are there many of these around?

Thank you.

What you have here is the #398 Rogers "Rocket" bass drum pedal. It is a "lower" line pedal than their Swivo-Matic of course.. but .. amazingly smooth for an entry level bass drum pedal. One line under this one is the #399 Rogers "Jet"... also pretty darn good for entry level. Straps on both were indeed leather.

Tommyp, thank you so much. I just needed to kill my curiosity before I send it on its way. Amazing detail on that, well engineered to cut down on extra parts and weight and even the BD clamp wing screw says "Rogers"!
