I'm new to this forum so I might not be doing this right , but I had a question about a snare a recently just bought . It's a ludwig 14*5 and it came with it's original case or so he told me . I did a little research, and the badge dates back to the 1900s but can someone give me a little more info about this beauty . Here are a couple pics , not the greatest pics but you get an idea??

Ludwig almost always hinged snare cases but I`m not real sure about earlier. They did always lable or tag them somehow.

As far as pricing goes, members Curotto and BEC, are better qualified for that. They know your drums everything !i

Your drum is from the 1930's it is a Ludwig Pioneer, the case is original to your drum. here look at this scan, http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/images/ludwig_snaredrums/1930-ludwig-snare-drums-7.jpg

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Looks like a 4x14 6 lug 2-pc shell...100.00-200.00 although some people like the 6 lug drums for Blues so 200.00 +....some do not like 6 lug drums other than to collect them so 100.00-150.00.

I think it was a very fair price ! yea its a 6 lug but your finish is in very nice shape for it's age. I have a 10 luge a little older than that and my finish is not that clean.
