Vintage Gretsch Snare Last viewed: 5 days ago

Hi.

I came across an interesting Gretsch snare drum, hoping you can confirm my research. I think it is a 1971 Tournament Parade marching snare, model #4581, serial #02069, 14x10 Tangerine Sparkle wrap.

It is missing the sling hook that attaches with one of the lugs, it appears the extra washer is still there. The snares aren't original, the key is missing, the spring in the key holder appears to be missing, and the stop sign badge was badly bent at some point. It is flaking it's finish and very loose, still bent to some degree. There is a spot of chrome missing on the lower rim, looks to be exposing a copper(?) color underneath?

Am I pretty close with my description? Is it worth me trying to replace and repair the missing and damaged parts? Any value to this drum in the collectible world?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

That's a cool find. Looks like early 70's, to me. That'll have some pop.
