Opportunity to pick up a set of late 30s early 40s president badged WFLs. Looks like 14x28 single tension, 7x14 snare, and 11 and 12 inch tucked toms. I think i saw the kit in the 39 catalog.

I didn't have a lot of time to evaluate when i stopped by. Repainted over likely unsalvageable duco. Looks all there, save for the metal band that should mount the toms to the bass. Currently hoop mounted. Bass hoops look good. Assume all else is reasonable.

So what is the 'as found' value? Owner is waiting for me to talk $ first. I can do the restoration, just don't know what to offer? These would be mostly a conversation piece.

Unless you see some extra holes on the bass drum, I'd expect those hoop mounts to be correct on that kit. Would be a fun project, but time consuming for sure.

Single tension bass drum, toms with tacked on bottom heads, in need of a refin, my guesstimate would be 2-300 bucks tops.

Like you said; It's a display piece not a player outfit.

I agree, $300 tops, but offer less. You won't be gigging those drums anywhere but your basement. Point that out to the seller. Tell him the drums are display pieces.
