Updated Double Tom post for Hollywood

Loading...

Regarding the Hollywood twin Tom kits, are there any modern Tom posts available to use in place of the old ones? Something that fits the original bass mounting hole and existing rack Tom mounts, yet more sturdy.

Anything with a 1" down tube that can carry 9.5mm "L" arms should work (unless you mean the REALLY early Hollywoods that still had diamond plates on the toms).

This would be one possibility...

Just load it with two 9.5mm (3/8ths inch) ball arms and you should be good to go.

You know what I hate about Gibraltar?

They always seem to have a part that will work. Laughing H

The ball part used by several companies appear to be the same size as Gibraltar's as they will fit Ludwig Gretsch DW and others. Yamaha uses their own size as does (I think) Tama. Probably best to stick with Gibraltar for everything just to be sure, if that is the route you want to go.

Ludwig used this same post and arm setup (but with a different sticker on it and more expensive) for many years on some of their lines. I'm not sure if they still do since the advent of their new Atlas line.

The top of this will work although it might be cheaper to buy new since you don't need the base.
