Yours has 3 mufflers Installed in it? the factory also put heating elements inside this era of snare drums but yours looks aftermarket as stated!, is it green duco?
it is green duco, one muffler. those are gut snare adjustments.

okay, one is a muffler, one is a gut snare tension adjuster, the other lever is the gut snare throw .
this is why i was wondering about the anniversary edition for 1936.

Yes I believe this is what you have but your is the top of the line model with dual strainer systems! Mike curotto will chime in on this one for sure!

the only problem with that picture (referenced in link) is that i don't know who this guy is and what he knows about snare drums.
here's the strange thing about this drum, first of all this color combo wasn't introduced for snares until 1939 or 40. it was an option in '36 for parade snares only. second thing is that no where is there any photos past or present with this combo of strainers and color.
so my questions are...
is it a very rare silver anniversary?
is it a pieced together 36 drum with supersensitive parts?
here's the big question: was the only supersensitive snare with gut snares made in 1936 a silver anniversary?
any and all help is appriciated. thanks to vintage...2000 for his help already. this mike guy needs to get on and help me out.
You'll have to be patient, Mike will come along, but you've only had the post up for one hour, the drum won't melt away! Please old rare drums like yours don't come along very often, so not a lot of people can evaluate them! there are no absolutes on ludwigs, could of been a special order, the stamp date inside the shell doesn't mean it was manufactured that date! Be patient Mike will chime in or send him a pm with this link. he's is one of the foremost authorities on rare drums, were very luck to have him as a member, and your advice is free!
sweet. yea i don't mean to badger the site, i just do have a lot of questions. i actually only acquired this thing yesterday. i'd like to begin restoring it (cleaning only really) but i want to know what it is before i touch it. thanks again for all your help so far.
Not a problem I certainly understand your enthusiasm! will you remove the top head and take an Inside pic of the dual snare strainer, muffler, heater, etc? thanks, and Hope I've helped some?
yea i can do that. should have done it 30 minutes ago when i had it off.
Also, Let Mike Curotto tell you how to detail this particular drum, he's done it hundreds of time's, also the duco paint can be very brittle, so let him tell you how and what to clean it with! we all have our favorite ways to restore a vintage drum, but go Mikes route.
