Trade...what to do...?

Loading...

I have a friend/customer in Montreal who wants a super rare,MEAZZI Rapid hi hat stand I have that I have $150 into...it was shipped from Germany to me...

He offered a very thin 1950's Hollow Logo A.Zildjian 16" with 1 added rivet hole,and keyholed a 1/4" wide by 1/8" deep ....

and also said he will pay the shipping of my stand to him.........

Got the cymbal the other day..and noticed there is a close to 1/8" crack at the bellhole.....I promptly emailed him this info....

Got a reply today saying he didn't notice this, and that shouldn't affect our trade!

I feel it should,as now,if I want to sell the cymbal....it will limit my market quite a bit.......and may have to take less then $150 for it.....the agreed upon price to my door for the cymbal.....I feel as much as $25 less.....

Your thoughts?

Thanks,

Blair

Yep... keyholed to cracked is big leap. He needs to be fair, the deal you got is not the deal you agreed to. I think your being generous at $25.

Gosh it sucks when stuff goes like that... best of luck.

I missed it, did you already ship the stand to him?

If yes - I would honor the deal and remember him.

If no - I would return the cymbal, postage paid, and remember him.

Either way, I would remember him. He would never enter a deal with me again.

My feelings exactly!

No...didn't ship stand yet...

Don't feel I should have to eat the $25 or so shipping back either!

A crack means broken!! no matter what it is , there is no! argument on that and you deserve a break of your own for that. It would seem that BUM trade deals like yours happens in our world a bit too often when we are not carefull with details , i been down that road a few times most come good on making things right and there is the few that deserve a tune up , at that point i just bite it and save my sanity.

He just called, and said to send it back...he will pay shipping...

So,all told, that is going to cost him around $50 for not checking out the cymbal closer.....
