Here are four of my Deluxe Student snare drums, including the "Sparkling Green Pearl" that I finally restored from almost a year ago!

Nice Mark. How do you not have a blue sparkle? (LOL)
Nice warm Jelly Bean mix going on there Mark.
Cheers

Hi slingerfan!
Yes, I do have a blue sparkle Deluxe Student! It's just not in this picture. Also, the wrap is the really dark blue that needs plenty of light to tell it is blue!!

Found pictures of my Deluxe Student in Sparkling Blue Pearl! As you can see, it's really dark! You can also see the drastic difference in shade with the mid-70's shell sitting on top. One with flash and one without!

To keep this Slingerland thread going, here's my 1966 Artist. I'm normally not a fan of Black Diamond Pearl, but this wrap is very "oystery" and beautiful! All original, except for the heads! The rubber gum washer behind the Zoomatic knob is still intact!

Mark, you've got examples of some of the best variations of both BDP and Blue sparkle.

slingerfan! Thanks for your comment! I also have a pre-serial Artist, solid maple shell, in blue sparkle. It's a beautiful shade of blue! I need to snap some pictures!

The black diamond pearl used by Slingerland in that era is the best in my view. As classic as it comes.
