I have a vintage tunable 12 inch ludwig tambourine. Needs replacement head. Advice on what type and where to purchase?

Thanks in advance,

Jim

Any 12" head should fit. I'd go with an Ambassador weight, textured.

I was going to say that Remo makes banjo heads a well as drum heads, so if your local store doesn't have a head that fits that tambourine correctly, call Remo and they'll either have it already, or make it custom if required.

I use a 13" Pandiero on a snare stand (basically a tunable tambourine) and I use a calfskin head on it. Great tone, look into a calfskin for your shing-a-linger.
