Tama Rockstar made in China? Last viewed: 7 hours ago

Loading...

I just visited a drum store that was supposedly selling a used Tama Rockstar 5 piece set. I looked on the snare drum and it said that it was made in China. Is that possible? The guy at the store said that the set was from the 1990's, but I thought Tama made their drums in Japan back in the 90's? Is it possible that the snare is not a Rockstar snare, but the rest of the set is a Rockstar set?

My 89 Rockstars say Made in Japan on the badge. It would not surprise me to find the later drums to be made in China.I have passed on these before simply because they don't come with a 13" mounted tom, which is my primary mounted tom.

Yeah, I was surprised to see that it had a 10" tom as the first tom and then a 12".

Someone decided 10/12/14/22 is the new 12/13/16/22-The set I play at band practice is one, but the Pearl version.

Teverson - How do you like it?

I'd like them OK if the set had a 16"FT-to get the 14" low it's floppy. Too bad, cause the drums themselves are good quality-beautiful white strata and isolation mounts on every tom.
