Anyone know when Slingerland stopped using the Super set-o-matic mount system? I'm looking at a set with oversize mounted toms (like 10x12 and 11x13), steel bass hoops and a Super set-o-matic mount. Silver, not chrome wrap. Would Music Yo have used that mount? It's an odd combination...also has a Tempo King pedal and a Slingerland Hi Hat stand.

I think around 83 or 84 they went to a new style of hardware including a new tom mounting system utilizing ball joints. I don't recall the name that had for the new setup (Maxum?) but they would have replaced the set-o-matic. It was sort of Slingerland's answer to Ludwig's modular hardware. A friend of mine bought a Slingerland set for her home "studio" and it had this hardware. It was heavy duty but I wasn't a fan of how it worked.
