Storm Updates

Loading...

Hey guys,

I'm creating a thread for storm updates so that any members who will be affected by the coming storm can let us know how they're doing.

We expect to get hit pretty hard where I am so if I disappear next week it's probably because of power failure. We've taken all the precautions necessary so we should be ok to ride it out.

I'll be keeping a good thought for all our drum buddies in the North-east. If you have any reports from your area, post them here.

Good luck all...

John

Squint - Now I'm kinda sorry I sold that 26" WFL bass drum... it'd be a damn good place to hide! lol Toilet

Thanks for the thought...

John

Question: Who do you think was the better drummer? Ringo with The Beatles, or Mahatma Ghandi with the Hare' Krishna Allstars? Tough one... lol

Hang tight there John. I hope you all ride out the storm ok. It's going to be ugly no matter what.

Looks like our main deal here is the high wind and tide surges with flooding. Some rain but not as bad as the western side of the storm. We're on the eastern side of the storm here in CT. Schools here have already been cancelled till Thursday. We'll very likely lose power for some time too. Gov has told all State workers to stay home tomorrow. We're all gonna sit tight here and ride things out too. I'll get some pics of the tide surge here if I can to post later. 8-11' surges and we're 15' above sea level here.

I always thought Hans Gruber with the Neo-Nazi Boogie Band was a pretty good near apocoliptic drummer. The guy was just all over half time shuffles.

So..I'm in Staten Island guys. We're gearing up for the worst here.I'm not warried about flooding so much,as I am about trees and losing power.

His majesty Mayor Bloomberg( can you believe he's worth 24 billion..yes with a B) has ordered evacuation of hundreds of thousands of residents in all 5 boroughs, mostly in Manhattan(what most people call NY City) and Staten Island.

I'm not worried about water, just trees and power outages.

Stay safe my east coast forum members as well as everybody else. Here's hoping your post storm stories are good ones.

Great thread John as usual.

Buckle up and hang on!! I have a questionable tree that I hope makes it through the storm. If it doesn't, I really hope it misses the house.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Yep. I spent the day here bolting down, locking up and cleaning gutters. I didn't bother with the leaves because the 40+MPH wind will knock the rest down and I can clean them up once next week.

We have enough of everything and the next door neighbor has a generator and is ready for the Apocalypse, so we'll figure it out.Keep on Pl
