Yesterday I acquired the wooden dynasonic by a personal sale.

When I got home I noticed that there is a split in the outer ply of the INSIDE of the drum.

My questions are:

Will this impact sound: value of drum?

Should I return to seller.

I paid $1200...silver sparkle.. otherwise drum looks solid

This is moisture damage the blackened wood and split bare that out, it will have some bearing on resale value yes. it is a relatively easy fix if you have wood working experience?

I've had good luck using feeler gauges to spread glue

In between the plies. Then clamp.

Visit a furniture restoration forum. See if you can bleach out that stain without damaging the finish, before you attempt a repair.
