Source For Slingy Pushbuttons Last viewed: 34 minutes ago

Loading...

Does anybody happen to know of a possible source where I might be able to purchase the pushbuttons that install into the floor tom mounts that Slingerland used in the '50s? I realize that JP2 Creations offers them but I've been informed that the "wait time" is extremely extensive.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Gary, I have the complete mounts and push buttons.

Thanks, Mark. However, I've got the mounts. It's the pushbuttons I need. In case I can't find them, I'd be interested in finding out how much you'd be asking for the complete mounts with the push buttons. If you'd be kind enough to drop me a PM I'd appreciate it.

THANKS AGAIN!

Are we talking about the mechanism or just the button? I used chrome Allen head screws for buttons, but my mounts still had the insides.

I've got the mounts. My original post was concerning the pushbuttons themselves. Thanks!

I'm not sure I'm going to have the patience to get my push buttons working reliably (and the buttons are missing) but if any one has some regular wingscrew ones they're selling, i'm buying.

THANKS for the suggestion, Rik. However, an acquaintance of mine ordered a set of these "ages" ago and, despite paying upfront, hasn't seen any pushbuttons nor received any correspondence from the seller. I don't want to be placed in that situation. An old guy like me just doesn't have that type of patience any longer (lol).

I had the same problem, so I just took the mounts to a place that sells all kinds of bolts and found something that worked. It isn't original, but works great.

I just got some allen key bolts from a hardware store as recommended on another thread and they work and look good. If I tighten them up so they are pushing against the legs then they stay firm. Otherwise the brackets don't even hold the drum's weight. At least it's a workable solution but what a rubbish original design! Someone should have asked what they were trying to achieve way before they got to the production phase. It would have at least been a better idea if the casting had locations for the spring to securely fit into so they don't fly off centre as soon as you remove the legSailing2. Anyway, rant over. I've loved everything about restoring this kit and the quality of the chrome is outstanding - but those mounts...
